Projects

  • Hydraulic systems for bridges and locks.
• Mandrels for the polyester industry.
• Special machines for industrial automation, oil industry and food industry:

Supply unit

Supply unit including alignment unit, punch unit and shears for processing steel plates.

Production machine

Crushing and bending machine for the production of tow bars.

Production machine

Crushing machine for the production of screen belt stays.

In this crushing machine, thin metal stays are heated by means of induction and then crushed in order to obtain the right form for their function as conveyors of screen belts. A.P. van den Berg took care of the entire process from idea to realisation.

Mixing unit

Cyclic mixing unit for intensive and explosionsafe (Atex) mixing of dry matter, like dye and toner.

For the cyclic mixer 2 hydraulic elevation systems were constructed including steel construction and control. The hydraulic system consists of 4 cylinders with a 1.6 metre stroke  length and a powerpack with tracking. The total lifting capacity of the system is about 8 tonnes and the system is explosionsafe (Atex).

Hi-tec measuring arm

Hi-tec measuring box with measuring arm for a catamaran research vessel.

Heave system

Heave system for improving brake testing procedure.

For testing the brakes of truck (semi)trailers an axial load of about 8 tonnes is required to prevent slipping of the wheels. However an empty truck trailer that goes up for testing usually does not reach the required load. This can be solved by pulling the axle down with taut-bands, this is however a time-consuming procedure. A.P. van den Berg Hydronics found a solution in heaving the test unit in a special frame, so that the axial load is increased artificially. When the brake test unit is heaved up, so is the axle of the trailer. The springs will be compressed so that (almost) the entire weight of the truck trailer rests on the axle. This makes the load sufficient to prevent slipping of the wheels when the brakes are tested. This innovative development enables truck service companies to make brake testing quicker, safer and more reliable.

Production line for air ducts

Production quadrupled thanks to smart engineering.

A new air duct production line led to a considerable improvement of quality as well as quantity, up to as much as 300% for certain parts. The production line consists of a feed reel with ultrasonic loop test, a feeding device with servomotor, a profiling unit, hydraulic shears and an out-feed roller table. Also the assembled equipment was supplied for the production of parts for amongst others connecting pieces for air ducts, provided with a servomotor. A.P. van den Berg took care of the whole development process from engineering to production.

Lifting systems for the oil industry

Lifting and manipulating systems for gargantuous mandrels for the oil industry.

The systems are part of the production line in a pipe manufacturing plant for producing fibre reinforced pipes (in general of epoxy resin and composites) for among others oil transport. They are used to lift and manipulate the mandrels on which the pipes are wound. After the hardening process the pipes are taken from the mandrel and the mandrel is cleaned to be used again. The lifting systems are suitable for handling mandrels with a weight of 6 tonnes and a length of up to 10 metres. In the picture one of the three mandrel lifting systems in production.

Testing unit for the oil industry

A hydraulic unit to perform tests with thinner drill pipes, that increase in diameter in the well (so-called expansion pipes), in order to reach greater depths.

Control units for the food industry

Hydraulic control units for the roasting heads for the production of rice wafers. The control units consist of a cylinder with integrated positioning system, a control unit and connecting lines.

Pressure vessel

Pressure vessel for testing offshore products under pressure.
