Crawlers

The heavy CPT crawler is specially suited for heavy CPT's in site where manoeuverability in rough or soft terrein is important or where the admissable height is limited. The crawler can be entirely adapted to your specific wishes and requirements. The length of the tracks and width of the track plates can be made to fit your needs.

On average, the specifications of the crawler are:

• Length: ±4300 mm.

• Width: ±2500 mm.
• Width of the plates: 700 mm.
• Type of the plates: steel.
• Height of the crawler basic vehicle: ±800 mm.
• Maximum traction per track: 85 kN.
• Maximum speed while driving/manoeuvring: depending on the pump and drive engines.

For the cross connection of the tracks a basis frame is made, that will largely absorb the forces generated during CPT operations. This frame will also contain the necessary ballast. Furthermore it will support all other features, like the CPT unit (types Hyson 200/300 kN, Coson 200 kN, AutoCoson or AutoHyson), the work cabin, the engine compartment and the levelling jacks.

The crawler is transported by road by means of a flatbed trailer or a specially adapted truck. In order to load/unload the crawler, the truck can be supplied with ramps for the crawler to drive up on the back of the truck, or the crawler can be provided with 4 extended jacking cylinders, allowing to back truck or trailer underneath.
The transport truck can be provided with a special frame and levelling jacks and a fixation system for the crawler, in order to perform CPT operations with the CPT crawler "piggy-backed" on the truck, thus providing more counterweight and saving load/unload time.

Wireless remote control

For loading/unloading and driving the crawler a remote control "chestpack" lets the operator manoeuver the crawler with a clear view from a safe distance, and also serves for manoeuvering on steep terrain. The operator is not hindered by a cable while walking around and finding a suitable place to stand. Also there is no chance of failure by overrunning the cable during manoeuvering.

Options for crawler plates
- Steel.
- Synthetic material.
- Domex: high strength steel with a flattened traction side.

The latter is an in-house innovation. These new plates reduce possible damage to the road or terrain and feature a 50% weight reduction compared to conventional steel plates. Furthermore they are less vulnarable to wear and tear than synthetic plates that are normally used to reduce weight. They are suitable for Track-Trucks as well as crawler vehicles.
