	Special cones: Electrical cone ELC2 "Minicone" with a cone tip area of 2 cm² Electrical cone ELC5 "Minicone" with a cone tip area of 5 cm²

	ELC10-5P Electrical cone with 5 pore-water pressure sensors. This cone is used by the Korean technical research centre KHC at Seoul. The cone has a normal cone tip area of 10 cm² and 5 pore-water sensors that measure the pore-water pressure at 5 different positions. The purpose is to register how the pressure changes around the cone during pushing.

	Offshore Especially for offshore soil investigation cones are available that are suitable for soil investigations up to great water depth of about 4000 metres. In the picture one of the cones used for offshore soil investigation at the Prestige, this one with a cone tip area of 2.6 cm²

	Minicone Precision mechanics with strain gauge technique: a sensor with a diameter of 7 mm with strain gauges in the cone tip, used for model research in a centrifuge where the centrifugal forces cause a high pressure on the cone. With this cone forces were simulated to scale.

	ELC25 Electrical cone ELC25, with a cone tip area of 25 cm². This cone was supplied to the English electricity company CEGB (nowadays EON) for the determination of the density in coalstocks.
