Measuring cables

Between the cone and the data acquisition system measuring cables are used for data transmission (unless CPT operations are performed using the OptoCone or a mechanical cone).
Usually the measuring cable has a connector to the cone on one end and a connector to the data acquisition system on the other, and therefore consists of one part. In order to facilitate operations and make the assembly more flexible, the measuring cable can be split up by using tacking connectors. This is especially convenient when casing pipes are used during CPT operations, for instance for extra support. |
